Of Nursing and Fairies

As I mentioned on Mielikki's blog . . . On-Call Fairies areworth their weight in gold. Were we work the wee people, fairies, or the "fae" can be found when least expected. You know how when ever you wash and dry socks, there is always one (or more)sock(s) missing? Even when you know you put them in the drier!? Well, those same mischievious wee people will go into a patient's room and tangle them up in the cardiac monitor lines, oxygen tubing, and IV lines/tubing. The poor patient is laying there, minding their own business (some are unconcious or sedated and can't move!), and you go back in after seeing to their needs and you guessed it, all tangled up.
There are moments though were they redeem themselves, that odd hinky feeling you get when something is wrong and you find yourself moved to double check your medications or check on the patient just one last time . . . always, always, trust your gut (and the fairies) no matter how odd or crazy your co-workers may think you are.
At the moment I am trying to post her picture . . . . but being in "Blog-land" the powers that be are not letting me add the picture . . . but I intend to prevail! (Pooka's, Wee People, and Fairies permitting.)
